About Samantha (and Koa and Aspen!)
After graduating from the University of Virginia in 2010, Samantha found a creative outlet to her IT consulting life in photography. When Samantha could no longer successfully bribe her husband to model for photography practice, she quickly learned her oldest golden retriever, Aspen, would work for food. Now with her husband and two goldens, she captures her pet-friendly adventures both outdoors and around town on the weekends.
When Samantha isn’t travelling for her day job, she splits time between Northern Virginia and Charlottesville, Virginia. Whether it’s camping at Lake Moomaw, kayaking at Beaver Creek Lake in Charlottesville, or sharing ice cream at Leopold’s Ice Cream in Savannah, the dogs are constant travel companions to Samantha and her husband. Through both digital advertising and print campaigns, Samantha has worked with companies such as Garmin, Nulo Dog Food, Visit Savannah, Virginia Tourism Corporation, and Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards.

Aspen
A two-time Orvis dog book cover girl, Aspen is a 5 year old golden retriever and big (half) sister to Koa. This sweet girl loves to be in the water or in a kayak. She is known for her big smile and squinty eyes when she gets super excited. While she is a golden retriever, she may or may not be the most unathletic one but that won't stop her from playing with tennis balls and "trying" to catch them.
Koa
Koa is a 2 year old male golden retriever and half brother to Aspen. He's known for his big head and goofy personality. When Koa isn't trying to tip Samantha's kayak, he enjoys playing with soccer balls, swimming, and chewing anything that resembles a stick.
